This is in fact the second time the bookshop has been attacked. In March 1993 it was firebombed by the neo-nazi group Combat 18 (1 and 8 being the positions of Hitler’s initials in the alphabet – although universally ignorant of history, it seems some fascists can actually read). This time, no-one has so far claimed responsibility. No-one was injured in the attack.

Apart from being our favourite anarchist bookshop, Freedom Press also provides a home for other grass roots organisations including Corporate Watch, Solidarity Federation, Advisory Service for Squatters and the London Campaign Against Poverty. The newspaper and original printing press dates back to the 1880′s, and has a long history of involvement in local struggles as well as international solidarity campaigns.

Κλάσματα is a single channel, voltage controlled Euclidean sequencer. With sequences of up to 32 steps it further broadens the rhythmic possibilities of Στοιχεῖα. Both sequence length and the number of fills can be simultaneously voltage controlled, allowing endless variations and long, evolving patterns.

After the faire, exhausted but happy, we performed with the Music Hackspace Big Band at the after party, along with a bunch of other acts.

Great times were had by all, not least thanks to the fantastically helpful volunteers – big thanks to you all and the organisers!

Λόγοι is a voltage controlled clock divider, delay and counter. It has separate as well as combined outputs, and lets you put an amount of delay on a given beat, with both parameters CV controlled.

On top of the usual divider, counter and delay functions, Λόγοι creates Voltage Controlled swing and shuffle time signatures.

Actually that’s not true – they came here to interview our friend Dom Butler from Factory Floor. Nice people that they are, after seeing some of what we do here they agreed to point the camera our way. Hopefully the footage will be up on their website at some point.

It looks like it will be a fantastic movie. As well as making a feature length film, they are documenting the inside world of the modular community at a very, very interesting time. We went with the London Music Hackspace to the BEAM festival this weekend.

Had a great time, met lots of lovely people and saw some amazing performances!

On the Sunday we played a set with the Hackspace Big Band, which was a lot of fun: Stoicheia and a few prototypes featuring as part of the improvised performance.

Massive thanks to Atau Tanaka and the organisers, hope to enjoy much more of this in the future.

We have therefore put a small number of Stoicheia modules aside, available to buy online from the BlipBox shop.
